n MEDICA 2007

Tulip group participated as an exhibitor in MEDICA, 2007, the 39th International Trade fair with Congress World forum for Medicine held at Dusseldorf, Germany from Nov 14-17th, 2007. This year Medica Congress had a whole range of themes in store from disease prevention to state-of-the-art diagnostics through to telemedicine upto emergency medicine or also legal issues. Tulip Group exhibited the entire range of CE marked in vitro diagnostics products in this international event. The main focus, however was the newly developed, innovative Accumix range of dehydrated culture media and High technology disinfectants manufactured by BioShields. At the exhibition the group received an excellent response for its innovative products.

n NARI Report on Qualisa- HIV & Retrolisa HIV-3.0

National AIDS Research Institute (NARI), a WHO Collaborated center for HIV diagnostics and monitoring of antiretroviral therapy based at Pune, India, recently evaluated Qualisa HIV 1 & 2 and Retrolisa HIV 3.0, (ELISA for detection of antibodies to HIV-1 and HIV-2) manufactured by Qualpro Diagnostics, a Tulip Group Company. A total of 90 sera including 45 confirmed anti- HIV positive sera and 45 confirmed anti HIV negative sera were used for testing.

The results of the evaluation were reported as follows: Qualisa HIV- Sensitivity- 100%, Specificity- 100% Retrolisa HIV 3.0 - Sensitivity- 100%, Specificity- 100%
